Nuclear matrix elements (NMEs) and the axial-vector weak coupling $g_A$ are crucial for double beta decays(DBDs) and astro neutrino studies, but theoretical calculations for them are hard. Excellent spectroscopic performance, event topology information and outstanding radiopurity are unique properties of High Purity Germanium (HPGe) detectors that facilitate the search for neutrinoless double beta (0$\nu\beta\beta$) decay of $^{76}$Ge.
